  12. Control Yourself
    by Thomas Leer
I first came across Control Yourself as an ear-popping B side on Leer's 45rpm Heartbeat single in 1985, and later as a reworked and extended track on the CD release of The Scale of Ten. Well, I prefer this early version: it's warmer, more hands-on and immediate, with the vocals confidently coming in early on - full of Leer's usual intensity. A great palette of sounds too...
  13. Forgive and Forget
    by Thomas Leer
A relaxed, catchy riff with some interesting key changes that just keep the song rolling along nicely, full of Leer's familiar trademarks: tight drum patterns, steady bass synths and arpeggiated rhythms, but with the addition of various TL backing vocals. There isn't the opportunity for a squealing synth noodle but I'm not complaining.
  14. Who's Foolin' Who?
    by Thomas Leer
To my ears Who's Fooling' Who? is reminiscent of Four Movements and Contradictions - buzzing with busy, tight drum pattens, and energetic synth lines, accompanied by Leer's distinctive and infectious vocals. It's so immediately likeable that I'm playing it over and over again along with my favourite Four Movements tracks! Thank you T.L.
