Clarity does Melissa's second recording some favours, emphasising the hardcore element of their songwriting and inviting me to make favourable comparisons to the energy of Gel and the horror of Couch Slut. Importantly though, the Venom and Darkthrone hallmarks are still there in those reverb-drenched vocals and the buzzy guitars. Nasty stuff.
