Libera (Part 1) Libera (Part 1)
A work of immense beauty. This album shows that the band has improved even more on their songwriting. It's got more classically-inspired harmonies and some additional touches of flavour with choral and orchestral sounds. (Oh how i wish for a NeO album with a full orchestra...) Tim's vocals sound more confident, he's grown immensely.
The ability to move from quiet to rage is still there and is used to more dramatic effect.
A new victory for the band, great music. Highly recommended.

    Pyrrhic Pyrrhic
Masterful, intricate, thoughtfully written and sincerely performed music. Honestly, only superlatives and unreserved adoration for this band. This music is able to devour a listener, to uplift and make them open to the beauty of the outer and the inner world. After listening to this album I often find myself in a state of acute mindfulness, heightened senses and openness to the world. This is music that moves and improves a person.

The Faintest Echo (Ash Memory Part IV) The Faintest Echo (Ash Memory Part IV)
A masterpiece of music and storytelling. This is an experience that will leave a mark on the listener. You will remember these songs for your entire life. They form a perfect trajectory between quiet and raging energy, bringing the listener into an unknown yet familiar land of fairytale and nature alive with spirit and soul.

And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope
The first album of the band, and already an album for the ages. A masterpiece of composition and performance. The blend of violin and extreme proggy metal is irresistible.

    Grasping Light Grasping Light
An immense work of art. Brilliant concept behind the story, very good lyrics, which is rather rare in metal. It's best to experience this album as a whole, to follow the story.
Musically very engaging, with catchy tunes and engulfing atmosphere. One of my absolute favourites in metal.

Side D - The Dream And The Waking / By Moon And Star Side D - The Dream And The Waking / By Moon And Star
This is a perfect metal band. Even better in vinyl mix, hell yeah!
The inspiration behind these riffs and melodies must be truly formidable, this band is uniquely good at composing music. What's more, Be'lakor sounds like Be'lakor, they do not copy or imitate other metal bands, and somehow their music remains immediate and not contrived. There is also a lot of classically inspired melodies and harmonies on this album, which makes for interesting re-listens.
  15. Stone's Reach (Vinyl Remaster)

    Side D - Aspect / Countless Skies Side D - Aspect / Countless Skies
Magnificent album, a contemporary classic of the style. I like every song here. Rich in memorable melodies and ever developing, moving forward. Maybe it's the best album by this band to date, although Vessels is on par in many ways.
  16. The Frail Tide
    by Be'lakor
A Natural Apostasy A Natural Apostasy
A truly great beginning for a mighty band. This stands on its own, it's not just a first album that is good to have listened to and move on.
In some ways this is not as tight, not as perfect compositionally as the next three albums. But very fine music nevertheless.
  17. Awaking The Centuries
    by Haggard
Haggard - The Final Victory Haggard - The Final Victory
One of the rarest bands when it comes to sound and composition. They make a very organic blend of early and classical music with metal. And all the instruments are actually played, not recreated electronically. A compelling and powerful kind of musical storytelling.
  18. Demiurgus
    by Equipoise
Cast Into Exile Cast Into Exile
This is a true tour de force in extreme neoclassical metal. The band has no boundaries to their creativity, fusing Baroque, Romantic, flamenco, jazz and metal styles seamlessly. Impeccable musicianship and composition, and lots of passion. The sound is also very pleasing, with acoustic guitars and piano completing the palette.
Powerful, aggressive, but also thoughtful and inspired.

    Condemned Assailant Condemned Assailant
Melodious and ferocious death metal. I love the feeling of a musical journey and development. This is what I love about this take on ultra-aggressive music, that it keeps cohesion and structure. It doesn't crush, but easily overpowers the listener nevertheless.
