Nine headed Dragon God Nine headed Dragon God
Nicolai Maruhama, keyboard wizard from Japan, is mixing traditional Japanese culture with all ingredients of modern and classic electronic music. With the help of classical chord-progressions, massive orchestration, dance-beats and even some vocoder-parts the dragon king comes to life.

  10. Human Kindness
    by Keldari Station
A splendid release ... some thoughts about it: The lyrics are quite relevant today and express a positive spirit, something we need today. Musically I like how the word "humans" is repeated and underlined with a different chord the second time. Then I love the sudden appearance of the guitar and of course the majestic ending, which reminds me on ... hold your breathe ... YES.
  11. Second Renaissance
    by D. D. Danahy
Deep lyrics and an epic, story-telling song-layout. I love the moment, when the acoustic drums and the rock-guitar enter, like a cross of Depeche Mode and Pink Floyd.

  13. Hesitating Wedding Ring Blues

A great track with heartfelt vocals. I love especially how you change the register of your voice sometimes.
  14. The Gateway to Astro Chamber N。5
    by nicolai maruhama
    Rebirth Rebirth
Nicolai Maruhama can recreate a full band with his synth-armada and it's astonishing how well he can imitate a guitar, a church organ and other sounds. The album is telling a healing-story and is following the tradition of progressive concept-albums. The center-piece Astro Chamber No.5, a mystic and spiritual place, is well surrounded by virtuoso prog-rock with high-speed breaks, daring chords and rhythm-changes. If Dream Theater would need a new keyboard-player, they should call Nicolai.

  16. You'll Be Fine
    by D. D. Danahy
Good old Rock'n Roll and great mixture of Rock with synths. It even reminds me on the Rolling Stones.
  17. Tony Turn Around
by The Magnetic Dog Sisters and the Couch King
A Good Planet's Hard To Find A Good Planet's Hard To Find
So many influences are melted together here: Motown-Soul, Funk, HipHop, Jazz. I appreciate, that you work with real instruments. An MPC and sample libraries can never achive such a warm and human sounding production. And the song "A good planet's hard to find" is very relevant today.

  20. The Fields

    Break Out Break Out
The team Midgley/Tillett is back with a strong concept-album, which tells a dark story from the times of the napoleonic wars and the beginning of industrialization. The album offers a kaleidoscope of musical influences, from heavy Black Sabbath riffs to intimate Folk-Rock a la Jethro Tull, all hold together by the imaginative songwriting and strong singing. Though the album's theme is historical you can easily transfer many topics to our modern, digital world.
