  1. Shadow System
    by Loxy & Resound
Pricey? Yes, especially when the tax adds a fiver and rounds up to thirty of the quids...but, a) the artist demanding proper payment is righteous and b) EVERY track is fire. ...and you do not want to miss the "bonus tracks" that are only available the release weekend. Absolutely essential for any Junglist or DnB Inspector.
  2. Mastered By Robots - Sonar's Ghost Edition
    by Sonar's Ghost
    Changes Changes
Apparently the title is literal and I am not able to tell you whether or not that's a good thing because my knowledge of mastering is limited, what I do know is that this is a very enjoyable collection with "Changes" being my personal favourite because of its moodiness and the way the beat and breaks are arranged.
"Uranus" is another highlight of break manipulation.
  3. Type - Deeper Still EP
    by Type
Type - Deeper Still Type - Deeper Still
Jungle and Techstep delights on yet another excellent release on this label. Type brings plenty of inventiveness with all tracks being worthy of large speakers. The drums on "Deeper Still" are an experience on their own, the wom-wom-wommmm of the bass being a simple and effective compliment to the inventive break dissection and reassembly, along with airy fx, its a dark delight.
  4. BRZ 009
    by Janaway
    The Test The Test
Hard to pick a favourite from this, but as one of my favourite eras of rave in the nineties is the point at which Jungle and Hardcore was splitting into two distinct sounds and the 4/4 kicks of the Bouncy-Techno to Happycore era of Hardcore could be found in Jungle tunes and gut churning bass could be found in Hardcore. But, believe, all of the tracks on this release are worth hearing.
  5. Payday
    by Minas
Being a resident of the TOWN of Wrecsam, I can definitely relate to this track.... I am so glad that not being able to afford records when my mates were getting into beak, turned me off the drity stuff... When you go to Tesco's cashpoint round my way, la, they run an advert about help with your cocaine addiction.... but its cool, my man says he's alright, he gets paid on Friday, he's good for it. Production on this is delightfully heavy too. Breaks, dirt bass and a guy telling you how it is.
  6. Holographic Principle Vol 2
    by Law
Holographic (Dead Man's Chest Remix) Holographic (Dead Man's Chest Remix)
The e.p. overall is of an excellent standard, however, it the final track that is my favourite.
  7. Jungle Cuts Vol.3
    by JOAN
    Generator Generator
I'm not plugged in enough, due to age, to know who JOAN is, but I am really glad I found their stuff. A top quality release full of Nouveau Jungle and Hardcore. All of tracks are good and "Generator" caps of the release with a joyful rolling vibe.
  8. Tyrone - Haunted
    by Tyrone
This is the epitome of "dirty bass"...however, the production doesn't allow the track to become murk and the second section switches into a smoother section before an airy breakdown demonstrates the space before we are dropped into the grizzle again from a different angle. Sonically dazzling and deftly switches itself around. Its your standard 16 to 32 bars, but done in a way that leaves you feeling like you have head an an album rather that four minutes. Essential release.
  9. Changes
    by Rumor Control
Mind, Body & Breaks Mind, Body & Breaks
Rumor is extremely prolific, not even the death of a Macbook can slow her down. This goes from UKG to Hardcore to Jungle and then finishes off with a cheeky bootleg freeness. This project feels as if the already dope producer has leveled up. Each track is super infectious and crisp, with "Mind, Body & Breaks" the one for the Junglists. Not to be missed.
  10. Get Buried Ep
    by Outrage
    The Raid The Raid
    Absolutely essential release.
  11. Holsten - All Talk EP
    by RuptureLDN
Holsten - One Step Closer Holsten - One Step Closer
An incomparable EP. Positively dripping in atmosphere. Every track is of the highest standard, with "One Step Closer" being the one for me that just edges ahead of the others to be my favourite, but it is in strong competition with the other tracks. This is an EP to listen to as an EP in its entirety and for those who do there is a great reward in the depths and peaks it sends the listener on.
  12. Pachamama (feat. Elliphant)
    by Luude
Luude always serves up something fun and danceable and catchy and the guest Elliphant and the guy in question continue that form with this release, on you will be humming in the shower and whilst doing the shopping for weeks to come.
  13. Time Doesn't Exist

  14. Chimpo - Don't Worry About It [LP]
    by Box N Lock
Chimpo - Charge it 2 Da Game Chimpo - Charge it 2 Da Game
Chimpo, Manchester's own, a fine man from a fine city. His production has a individual character and when he gives verse it is always a delight. His excellent turn of phrase and use of colloquial is like a nicer, friendlier, less pretentious version of Will Self.
