What a crazy conundrum! This album is an interesting trip having grown up with a Dr. Demento christmas special on tape and my father’s other silly song selections. While the first track is maybe the most childish in terms of how obvious the word play is and being a parody, each track ramps up with some rather funny tracks.

Don’t let the cover fool you, this is real history, not to be discarded with the rest of your elderly uncle’s 8mm collection.

Great instrumentation, work a bit on vocals.

This album has been with me for quite a while. When I put this on, I remember fondly times of playing flash games and an age of musical discovery for myself. This is Chiptune, genre defining is the only way to describe Bits with Byte.

I bought 8 Bit Weapon’s entire discography some time ago based solely off a few albums. As I’m listening through their library, Class Apples proves to be a delightful album. While, of course, being reminiscent of old computer game soundtracks, I am reminded of Kraftwerk and the Portal soundtracks across the album. Not mind bending material, but Class Apples rejuvenates those overplayed classical songs we’ve known over the years and makes them enjoyable and recontextualizes the source material.
