This is the sound of modern jazz. I don't want to pit artist against artist, but Kamasi is doing something that represents more of a revival to my ear. Listen to Azar Lawrence's "Bridge Into The New Age" if you want to understand what I am talking about. The music that Alfa Mist is bringing has a rooted feel but is clearly facing forward. It's the sound of today and representative of modern urban tastes. People, this is it!!
