There's something strangely hypnotic about this. You can't turn your ears away. lyrically strong with social commentary, politics, belief systems and the future. But always coming back to dreams vs. reality and fighting your own hypocrisy. Maybe the biggest hypocrisy of all is that in trying to express and deal with reality Quincy Vidal have produced something so incredibly real. Reinterpretation of old school Jazz/Hip-Hop to suit where they're at in life now. Would love to see them live.
Reggae/Dub as it should be - the CD has been on repeat since getting it! quality music you can chill out with or get up and skank to. The two female voices are both individual and complimentary, to each other and the style. Lyrically strong with genuine meaning to the words they express.
It is not often you find a compilation that is so coherent in its overall sound yet so expansive too. An exploration of a vibe and a great example of how music can be adapted and take on many forms within a single release.
If you not only love music but also want to become part of an exciting journey of music then listen to this.
Personally it makes me want to return to Nottingham. The city where creativity is expressed and encouraged like nowhere else i have been.
